UMI Super reveals 6 GB RAM, USB Type-C audio jack and sub 300$ price

We are getting bits of the UMI Super specs reveals here and there and slowly getting to piece the puzzle together. What’s already known is the Super AMOLED display and dual camera setup, so what’s the next stuff coming?

Not even close to full specs yet, but today’s revelations are quite massive, UMI Super is apparently going to have the USB Type-C audio connector and ultra fast charging support for the battery, but the real kicker is 6 GB RAM and price slightly under 300$. Sounds pretty competitive to me so far.

Gizchina News of the week

So what sort of a CPU could UMI Super realistically have paired with 6 GB RAM? Is the Snapdragon 820 a possibility? Keep in mind that unlike some other manufacturers sticking strictly to Mediatek UMI already has an experience with Qualcomm chipset used in their phone with UMI eMAX mini in late summer 2015. So are we getting another Snapdragon UMI phone with the Super model?

And one last question for you in the end, would you consider buying UMI Super for sub 300$ price looking at the specs revealed so far?

Don’t bring such misinformation: umi IS stuck with mediatek, since emax mini is just a rebranded tcl phone… So no way we’re going to see a sd820!

Finally superphones come into the forefront. After years of mostly meaningless competition on peak performance that plays very little role on phones, phones started to give more attention to RAM, the one thing that can improve day-to-day performance more than anything else via caching.

Of course just because a phone would have great performance it means close to nothing on how good it would actually be in -probably- more important stuff, like handling, battery life. Nor does it say anything about niche uses like GPU and Camera performance.

It would be a funny year though. $700-$1000 phones being beaten in fluidity from $300 phones, merely because $300 phones would do much less loading…

No UMI crap shouldn’t worth above 200 USD even if it’s 12GB RAM.

UMI hiking the price of this phone will never do them any good, when there are better phones in China.

Dont be fooled with paper spec, phone got more to do with just hardware.

an 820 would be ABSOLUTE OVERKILL , even for umi who CANNOT afford such an expensive SoC … would make sense if its an x25 or x20 or EVEN a SD 652 … but thats just about it , anything else would be circumstantial and surprising to say the v.least.
