Vernee Thor charger teardown video

Phone accessories like chargers could be sometimes kind of a necessary evil for many chinese manufacturers and the quality pretty much varies. Seems like the new startup company Vernee is trying to make sure even the little details will be okay for their Thor model release and the charger is one of those.

They have released a teardown video of the Vernee Thor official charger and in comparison with the “other adapter” are showcasing the superiority of their piece. For me the brightest point of the video is the fact that the “other” charger is one i’m using for years with my Kindle so it finally got some recognition and internet fame 🙂

It’s certainly a positive thing showing the effort to improve the quality of the components, but only time will tell if the Vernee Thor charger is really that much better. From the video it looks like it, so take a look yourself .

Wow, that made a refreshing change from all the phone destruction videos we keep geting bombarded with. Hope it is better as I’ve had a few dodgy chargers over the years.

  I had one blow up in an outlet once, believe it was the Doogee one actually. Was sitting there watching tv and heard this loud pop, looked over and the charger was melting.

    I really like what Vernee are doing at the moment, I know some on here disagree but it’s great to see the attention to detail they are offering. If the phones half as good as the specs on paper suggest, it should be a cracking little phone.

        You surprise me as I thought you would be more for the Apollo than this. I was interested in it until I read the 5.5″ display part. Would be great to get an Apollo max with a 6″ screen.

        I am very very interested in the Apollo. But I don’t trust new brands enough to invest that much money in them. I am comfortable investing $120 to try a new brand out, I’ll use it for a few weeks and see how the brand is with durability, reliability, software etc. and then give it to one of the kids in the family

As much as idea is actually good as we can analyze quality of loo integrated components along with used approach I actually think they digged they grave with this one.
So what high quality component or at least superior quality ones?
Used capacitors are plane cheap ones not a high quality nor any kind more superior more durable dry ones. As power transformer is main & essential component let’s laborate little about this. Actually the one Vernee used is smaller it have less winding bobbins which makes it worse. I just hope that they baked it good & used at least good enough lacquer coating. What we can’t see is used secure bridge & voltage control circulate but I am certain that they used most essential ones. So by all means this doesn’t represent a high quality nor tech advanced charger it’s a plain cheap loo quality one, this doesn’t mean it won’t work good nor that it won’t serve you for a long time but it’s certainly not something you would advertise to show superiority & quality of your products if you have any brains at all.

  your average consumer wont know 3/4 of this so really this video virtually did no harm most people that are going to buy this phone wont even know what Soc it has
