As expected, Chinese phone maker Lenovo have launched the ZUK Z1 in India.
The phone is exactly the same device that went on sale last year (we’ve also done a review of it). It may not be the most powerful phone that will launch in India this month, but power users might still be interested.
The phone will be sold directly under Lenovo (and not ZUK) in India. At 13,499 INR or $200, I feel Lenovo have done a good job with the pricing. Even if it’s leftover stock that Lenovo are trying to sell, I’d be interested in the Z1 at the mentioned price point if I were in the market for a phone.
Gizchina News of the week
To remind you of the specifications on this one, it comes with a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p FHD display, a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 64GB on-board ROM, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 8 mega-pixel front facing camera, fingerprint scanner and a 4100mAh battery. It’ll run CyanogenOS based on Android 5.1, with an update to Android 6.0 based CyanogenOS in the pipeline.
The phone will be sold via Amazon.in via a flash sale model, the first of which will take place on the 19th of May. Registrations for the sale begin 1pm today, i.e., 11th May. Readers from India, are you planning to get one?
