Yesterday turned out to be quite a techie Tuesday for folks in China and tech enthusiasts the world around. Not only did the day see the launch of Xiaomi’s first ever ‘big phone’ yet, but also saw the announcement of the mighty new Huawei Honor V8.
Huawei’s Honor has been about ‘budget flagship’ phones so far, but the brand seems to have shifted its focus a little higher up. Let’s take a quick look at what’s inside the Honor V8.

Huawei Honor V8 Pricing & Conclusion
The Honor V8 is priced as follows in China:
- 1080p screen/4GB RAM/32GB/Kirin 950: 2299 Yuan ($352)
- 1080p screen/4GB RAM/32GB/Kirin 950 (plus better network support): 2499 Yuan ($383)
- 1440p screen/4GB RAM/64GB/Kirin 955: 2799 Yuan ($429)
Quite clearly, the Honor V8 is an attempt by the Honor sub-brand to breach the high-end market in China. A few other high-end flagships, including the OnePlus 3 are yet to show up, so stay tuned.
The Honor brand was meant for international sales so I would be highly surprised if they don’t launch one.
