A few brands played the 6-inch phone game a couple or so years back, but phones that size seemed to have died down since. The ‘big phone’ market recently got a new life with Xiaomi announcing the 6.4-inch Mi Max, and another Chinese maker — ZTE — seems to have similar plans.
Known as the ZTE Zmax Pro, the phone will target the western markets — especially the US. Considering that Xiaomi has no official presence in the country (as far as phones are concerned), this might be a great opportunity for ZTE to claim some market share.

According to sources, the ZTE Zmax Pro will have a 6-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080p resolution, while being powered by the Snapdragon 617 processor. Other alleged features of this rather large smartphone include a fingerprint scanner (on the rear?), with 2GB RAM and 32GB on-board ROM. A 13 mega-pixel camera on the rear and a 5 mega-pixel one on the front will take care of imaging on the phone.
The Zmax Pro will be 4G-ready, and is expected to be on offer from T-Mobile when it does go on sale.
