Doogee Y300 gets faster with Android 6.0 update

Doogee Y300 is one of the budget phones trying to win the hearts and more importantly wallets of the value oriented customers. Price/performance ration is not bad, though the hungry sharks of late are filling the market with better specced phones for lower price. Doogee Y300 offers okay value for the retail $130-140 price : 5-inch 2.5D curved HD display, quad core MT6735 processor, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB of storage, 8 MPix main camera interpolated to 13 MPix, 5 MPix selfie cam with 8 MPix interpolaton, 2200 mAh battery capacity, LTE bands 1/3/7/20, dual SIM and recently also Android 6.0.

The new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update apparently fits in the company claim with “Yacht it, timeless youth!” slogan, because the phone gets significantly faster with the new version of the system. Doogee aims the ads and after all the phone itself at the younger generation so it’s also available in various color variants – black, white and gold. The hyped new “Floating video” and “Screen Record” are also surely meant mainly for the younger users.

There is just so far the MT6735P (4×988 Mhz)can go. You cannot make this thing very fast.
For that price get the Vernee Thor, Doogee should have at least put the 6737 in there, not to mention the 6750!

You mean 6753? Anyway Thor is a plastic phone. This phone is all metal and glass.

Good engineerd plastic beats cheap metal and glass anyday.
It`s allot more durable than anyone thinks.
Also Doogee’s camera quality is abysmal(i`m not even going to mention their custom UI whicih is ridden with bugs)

you are assuming that vernee makes quality plastic phohes while assuming doogee makes low quality phomes with premium materials. this is a fallacy,

Well, yes I dare to claim that. I have held a Vernee Thor in my hands and it`s plastic is of much better quality than what Doogee were ever offering.
And as I said, cheap glass and metal may look good, but are definitely not better for smartphones.

No, Doogee Young series(Y100,200,300)all use the same MT6735P(4x988Mhz and 400Mhz Mali 720MP2) chip which is the power efficient version of the 6735A(which is clocked 1.3 Ghz and 500-550 Mhz Mali 720 MP2)

As reports go, it`s the same Y200 with a different body. Camera, lenses, SoC, everything is the same.
