Elephone is currently working on the so-called “B” version of the P9000 model and while all the hardware specs will remain the same the big difference will be the supported LTE bands. The new “B” version should be compatible with the bands 2/4/7/17/38, which are used mainly in USA, Canada or Latin America. Price will also remain the same, you can check how it all works in the video below.
Gizchina News of the week
In other news Elephone is cutting the price of the Elephone Vowney model and you can currently get it here for just $239.99 which isn’t half bad.
Elephone Vowney is an interesting piece of hardware which suffered from extreme delay between the announcement and real release, but still worth at least a look. Specs include 5.5-inch 2K display (535 PPI), octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 processor, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, 21 MPix rear Sony IMX230 camera, 8 MPix front selfie cam, dual SIM support, Press Touch ID, 4000 mAh battery, Android 5.1 Lollipop and supported LTE bands 1/3/7/20.
As mentioned…Elephone also dropped the price of the Vowney to $239.99 and $199 for Lite. The P8000 price dropped to $139.99 which puts it in competition with Vernee Thor if you’re not hunting a 5″ phone but want more higher features.
Note the Vowney has near to zero support.
I guess that if they went $189.00 dollars for full vowney it could be more enticing. Most of the current M3 note3 redmi3 le Eco 1s and others are much much cheaper of course not the same specs but the user experience is years a head. So this VOWNEY thing is for knowledgeable folks that can deal with button pressing and hardware fussing.
Definitely Joel. With Vowney having no company support it’s a major fail. Maybe if Elephone ported Marshmallow at the same time as M3, then it maybe more attractive. I’ve heard rumours that the M3 is being dropped anyway by Elephone so expect it to have a similar short release like the Vowney is it’s released at all.
