Indian startup and Sachin Tendulkar-backed Smartron yesterday announced the launch of the Smartron t.phone, the company’s first smartphone.
Smartron already has an Intel-powered tablet, the t.book in its kitty. The company fancies itself as an IoT startup, and thus plans to include features that will allow cross-device talk.
To speak of the phone per se, it comes with a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p Super AMOLED display and is powered by 2015 flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 810. Besides that, the t.phone has 4GB of RAM, 64GB ROM (expandable), a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 4 mega-pixel front camera and a 3000mAh battery.

The Smartron t.phone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and will be available for purchase in open sale (i.e., no flash sales) for 22,999 INR ($340).
