We don’t usually get to see too many phones that will work for U.S Chinese tech fans but the latest ZTE Grand Max 2 will.
Launched earlier in the month on Cricket, the Grand Max 2 is a big screen phablet with the specs of a mid-ranger. Think of it as the Xiaomi Max only with a smaller battery, and a dual rear camera design.
Pricing of the phone is just $200 which has left enough room in the budget for a 6-inch 1920 x 1080 display, Snapdragon 617 chipset, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, and Android 6.0.
Gizchina News of the week
There are some highlights though including support for Quick Charge 2.0 which will apparently charge the 3400mAh battery from 0-50 in only 30 minutes, and a dual 13 mega-pixel rear camera design.
For those ZTE fans looking for something a little more upmarket then later this month Axon are set to launch their flagship Axon 7 phone, and the Nubia Z11 Max is also due very soon too.
Thought I read secondary rear camera is just 2 MP.
You are correct. Which means this is nothing more than a gimmick.

I’m not really a fan of those phones coming with Snapdragon 617, its just like the continuous use of MT6753. Snapdragon 617 feels like a fixed 615, that’s a reason that I praise Xiaomi at the moment, at least they are using the latest 650 on mid-range.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 uses SD616….
Only the Redmi 3, but soon we may find it for 100 or below.
Right now on Kimovil the cheapest Redmi 3 (616) is $125, Redmi 3 Pro (616) is $150.
Maybe he was referring to the redmi 3 note pro.
