There is a lot of chatter going on around the upcoming Asus flagship phone and how it could be another bargain priced hardware monster! Just look at these specs.
In the run up to the Zenfone 3’s launch we have heard plenty of rumours, but the one which has really stuck is the idea it might launch with a Snapdragon 820 and other high-end kit at a nice and affordable price point.
Well a recent GFXBench discovery gives us something to go off, with the confirmation of the top tier Qualcomm chipset along with some other goodies.
Gizchina News of the week
According to the benchmarks, the Zenfone 3 will also feature a 1920 x 1080 display, 4GB RAM, 128GB memory, 21 mega-pixel main camera (with 4K video support), 8 mega-pixel front camera, NFC and an Android 6.0.1 bases operating system.
This version of the Zenfone 3 is believed to be the Deluxe model, which could mean a lower end version is in the works and perhaps even an ‘ultimate’ with more RAM is on the way too.
As for pricing, we are not sure yet, but Chinese sources are suggesting pricing of around 2400 Yuan which is around $365.
Fairly nice considering the specs and quality of manufacturing ASUS has. My concern would be that they don’t attempt to release a 1001 sub models like they have been doing for the Zenfone 2 as it just confuses the public and dilutes community support.
Yeah yeah, snapdragon high-end chip and stuff, but most importantly: probably they’ve fixed that atrocious design of theirs… Probably… xD
That’s why I concerned for now, they should do a revolution in all their awful design.
Yep, they really should… This year there’s more competition than ever, it’s unacceptable to see a device with a worse design than most chinese company (I mean: even ulefone pull out a slimmer design on a device having double the battery… It’s not that hard!)
Not to mention the couple of extra centimeters they wasted to mantain that “iconic” space under the capacitive buttons… ?
I mean, i can live with a thicker or longer device, but if you’re taking the space, make it count: i don’t see the reason to have such a tick device when the battery inside is so small… There are chinese phone with double the battery yet slimmer than that! Also, if you keep the space on the chin, put the speaker there, don’t let it as a blank space for whatever design reason…
I beg to disagree. I’ve had mine for over a year and have never noticed the thickness. Why? Because it’s tapered down to about 4mm on the sides and that’s where you hold a phone. The only downside to that is you can’t really do much with it on a flat surface as it rocks from side to side. So, no it’s not thick.
Have to agree to disagree. For me it wad way too thick when i held it.
Fair enough. Let me put it another way. My Redmi Note 3 has much thicker sides and that’s where phones are held. I like the design but the “chin” is baffling.
Where you hold your phone depends on the user. I hold my phone with the bottom resting against my palm. On the Zenfone 2 the bottom is massive.
That must be some balancing act! Lol
Not at all, fits right into the bottom of your hand naturally. Like in this picture.
