Elephone S3 shows off bezel-less display in unboxing video

elephone s3 unboxing

Bezel-less displays are becoming more main-stream with phones like the Elephone S3. Take a look at the device in action in this unboxing video.

Way back in the good old days (I’m talking about 2015) there was a lot of excitement about the idea of producing phones with a bezel-less design. Back then it was only ZTE who managed to actually pull the trick off, but in 2016 we are seeing other brands produce similar designs.

At MWC I got hands on with the Ulefone Future, and now the Elephone S3 is also here to tempt those of you on less flexible budget to splash your cash.

Gizchina News of the week

In this unboxing video below, we get to see the Elephone S3, it accessories but more interestingly we get to see the bezel-less design of the phone and how it would look in day to day use.

The S3 is on sale now at a price of 165.43 Euros, however using the code ELE2016S3 will save you an additional $8 of the RRP of the phone.

Specs include a 5.2-inch FHD display, fingerprint scanner, 3GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel Sony camera.

I never really jumped on the Elehate bandwagon, so this is pretty exciting stuff to see.

Me neither, Bought the P3000S for my 10 year old daughter 18 months now and it’s been dropped numerous times and still going strong.
Looks like they’ve finally got it right (battery could be better though)!

Similar experience with P8000 … I guess it’s hit or miss with Elephone and quality.

Same case. Not to mention the shitty after sales service and buggy rom with slow to no support.

I’ve bought two Elephones in the past, the P4000 for by brother and the P6000 for me, and I was honestly quite happy with them.

IMO Elephone is a company that’s just slowly growing with time. For now they’re still trying to find some solid ground, but I feel like they’ll eventually get their bearings someday and release some good devices.

I think Elephone’s biggest problem is they are trying to be the next Xiaomi, without being the next Xiaomi. In other words they are trying to be a company with products in nearly every segment like Xiaomi is. But they still haven’t nailed down a solid software experience and/or product line like Xiaomi did in it’s beginnings.

I don’t think they will ever be successful unless they stop wasting time and resources on the miscelanous crap and focus on releasing 1-2 really good phones each year instead of 12. They will make more with 2 really good phones than they will with 12 terrible to average phones.

Hi I need an advise, my Meizu mx5 is dead only after 5 months and I need some new budget phone with good quality. Do you think it would be a good idea to go for this one?

You can’t put quality and Elephone in the same sentence, so no.

They are professionals for advertising phones with a glorious touch, but then when the phones come, when they come cuz some never see the light of life, they fail in a lot of aspects, aspects that make a normal user waaay upset.

What happened with your Meizu? Mine is still going strong after 10 months including many drops.

Some nasty shutsdown problem. From one day to another my meizu began to suffer random shutsdown without any apparently reason. It happened 2 months ago. I tried everything: different roms (from fly4 to beta), turn off google play updates, wakeup-apps, underclock the cpu etc etc. All this without success. I heard it could be motherboard error. If you are interested here is the discussion:

        and here in spanish:

It seems to be pretty common issue. The phone is technically not dead but useless. One bad day it turns off by itself every time you try to use it.

    i say power before beauty

    give us at least SD650 / SD652 / Helio20 / Helio25 cpu
and 3GB of RAM, NFC, FM radio

    and then Bezel-less

      May 27, 2016

I think Elephone took on-board or the whiners about two years ago saying if it ain’t bezel’less then they aren’t buying. Now Elephone is putting bezels over feature count and grunt.

Apart from the bezel’less screen/design this phone is out of its water regarding the price spot ($179) for this technology (MTK6753 region). The winners are the Vernee Thor (as low as $99) and possibly the Oukitel K6000 Pro ($149) if you want those little extra features and super battery life but less aesthetics. I haven’t listed old phones with price drops, only new with current support.

Too expensive for what it offers. It it was to hover around $99 it may had been worth it.

You can clearly see bezels in the photo so it’s not truly bezelless.
