Vernee Apollo Lite presales starting June 1st and we know the price

In our last article about the Vernee Apollo Lite we have already summed up the list of the hardware specs and even had the presale start date. But not the most important part with the price tag so we are glad we can fix that today.

Today’s official Vernee press release confirms June 1st as the presale start day and sets the retail price at $229.99, which is reasonable looking at the hardware. And as a bonus few real pictures of the Apollo Lite so you can have some idea about the design look too.

But first let’s go once again over the hardware specs. Vernee Apollo Lite will have 5.5-inch FullHD Sharp IGZO display with “blue light” protections, deca-core Helio X20 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM, 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage (expandable up to 128 GB), rear 16 MPix shooter using Samsung S5K3P3 chip (6 lenses, ISOCELL, RWB), fron 5 MPix cam with Samsung S5K5E2, 3180 mAh battery capacity and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Furthermore we can find USB type-C port there with headphone support, but the classical 3.5mm jack is present too. Pump Express 3.0 fast charge support, full metal body, dual SIM, OTG, fingerprint scanner and 3D technology are just another bunch of its features. Just like the Thor model Apollo Lite will have open kernel source code released for the developers. Dimensions are 152 x 76,2 x 8,9 mm and 176 g of weight.

After Thor i will not make a preorder. Vernee lie about specs have hardware ans software problems on their first phone. Will wait until the hype is down and normal reviews to come

    Well they promised fast charge – no one got it. They promised superfast precise fingerprint scanner – no one has it. Laggy LCD Sensor with bad finger position almost pain in menus and swipe games. Phones suffer bad lenses, no focus on corners, distortion of the straight lines on many photos, extra heavy noise reduction, makes wavy texture and bad contours of objects.

      You’ll notice in that video Vernee asks questions about updated but the channel host fails to reply back. Amazing Vernee is on the ball, unlike other companies.

        WRLY? So just imagine you receive a phone with the fingerprint sensor that doesn’t work right. Camera lenses that distort horisontal line and a person from Vernee adds a comment, so what? How it will fix it? Most of Thor owners on 4pda.ru have bad sensor experience, visit Vernee forum and read about all issues if you don’t believe me. All that vernee is doing right now is promising to fix it in firmware. But bad lenses, low quality touch sensor could not be fix if it has hardware issues. After Vernee Apollo i might think they will focus on new phone and forget about thor owners like any skumbag china company that been there before. THL, Jiayu, Mlais and more

        lot people have confirmed that they did not right when they firstly input fingureprint on Thor, most people said it’s good to use. about camera performance, i personally not think 120 dollar phone could do this good as 200 dollars phone. no need to be so mean to a budget phone like this, really !

        just go to read and watch all the Thor review, very very few reviewers said these issues, are they stupid or lost mind ? and some reviewers who mentioned some problems had confirmed that they were not right for some opinions on Thor, you just speak p only bad of this smartphone here and never share any good words of it. this is too far away from honesty.

        Point taken but consider if the circuit board is proper then it’s only software tweaks needed to repair the issues, and Vernee has asked the Commenter to patch but he hasn’t replied.

      I haven’t had nearly the issues you have. Vernee doesn’t mention anything about quick charge but overall my charge times haven’t been bad. My touch panel works fine and the cameras perform like a $120 phone would. It’s not nearly as good as some phones but it’s a budget phone. I’ve also had no issues with wifi.

        No they lied and made an excuse for that. Here come the official reply from vernee:
        Official Statement Regarding the Fact that Thor Is not Equipped with Quick Charge Prior to Thor’s launch, we cooperated with a factory which claimed that they could supply us with chargers sporting quick charging technology for Thor. However we found later that their products were of pretty low quality. At last, we decided to abort the cooperation and partnered with another manufacturer, for its more endurant and safer 5V 2A charger. However it doesn’t support quick charging.
        In response of your complaints that it takes almost 3 hours to get a full charge for Thor, we has to say that’s not really true. As we all know, the charging time is decided by two factors, the charger and the software optimization. Once we optimize the software to its fullest, Thor’s charging time will be reduced to 2 hours. And our engineers are in the middle of optimizing the software for next update.
        To make up for the misleading information, we decide to offer free flip cases to those who purchased Thor before May 15th. And you will have to offer the below info to get a free case.

        On their website their isn’t a single mention of quick charge of any kind. If you’re getting 3 hour charge times that’s not that far off from some of the cheaper brands quick charge tines. Not all quick charge is the same, some can charge in under an hour others take twice as long. But they don’t take 7-8 hours like phones used to take. For my Thor with the supplied charger it takes a little over 3 hours, with my Meizu quick charger it takes about 2.5.

        You mean that when you use your meizu F.C. on the thor it charges faster ?
        It should be … my fast charger does 0 to 80% in an hour for my 3500mha phone. 95 minutes for 0 to 100%

Been using my Thor for about a week now, will be leaving me shortly. Overall I’m pretty impressed with it, there’s nothing spectacular about it. Everything is right in line with other budget phones but there’s also nothing wrong with it. Usually first phones from new brands suffer all sorts of issues. I’d give it a solid 7/10.
