Xiaomi flagship Mi 5, and Redmi series flag bearer, the Redmi Note 3 are now available in India registration-free.
Both, the Mi 5 and the Redmi Note 3 were announced in India in May – last and first week, respectively. While the Mi 5 goes for 24,999 INR ($372), the Redmi Note 3 costs 9,999 INR/11,999 INR ($150/$180) to procure.
Both devices have, since their launch, been available only in flash sales. During the current open sale, the Mi 5 will be available via Mi.com, while the more affordable Redmi Note 3 will be available via Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, and Snapdeal.
Gizchina News of the week
Xiaomi mention that the devices will be available on open sale (no registration) for as long as stocks last.
If you’re contemplating buying either one of the phones, feel free to read our reviews of the Mi 5 and the Redmi Note 3 (2GB | 3GB). Bear in mind though that the versions we tested were the Helio X10 powered ones; we have a SD650 variant in transit as we speak.
“we have a SD650 variant in transit as we speak.”
If that the case, i am waiting for a hands on (or better a full review) then. That’s to read your opinion on this phone, (i already own one and am very happy so far).
If you need any help count me in.
I had both and kept the Snapdragon version for the sole reason that you can easily unlock the bootloader with a “hack” and get rid of retarded MIUI in seconds…
XDAs AOSP Rom is working perfectly fine and will do till stable CM13 is available
The Mediatek version needs the “official unlocking”-bullshit-way which doesnt work 50% of the time
