ZUK Z2 goes on sale today, expect it to sell out fast

ZUK’s second new phone of the year will go on sale today, and is expected to sell out fast!

The ZUK Z2 has gone to market much faster after launch compared to the ZUK Z2 Pro, and today will be the first day the Snapdragon 820 powered phone will be available in China (with international resellers likely to receive the phone in the coming days too).

Gizchina News of the week

While the Z2 is seen as the mid-range ZUK phone for 2016, the specifications are actually quite similar to some flagship phones of the year. Features include a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal memory, 8 mega-pixel front camera and 13 mega-pixel rear camera.

Interestingly the ZUK Z2 Pro comes with a slightly smaller 5-inch FHD display but larger 3500mAh battery, while the ZUK Z2 Pro gets a larger 5.2-inch screen and marginally smaller battery.

The ZUK Z2 will go on sale later today in China for 1799 Yuan, we hope to receive one soon for review.

you said ZUK 2 pro twice to describe two different phone (I think the first one should be the ZUK 2)

Right, the first mentioned device with 5-inch display is ZUK Z2.

I hope they get it fast too. Desperate to see good reviews in English.

Forget it; June 18 is your next chance. The Z2 Pro Buy It Now button was live longer than the Z2 and offered a fair crack at one. For buyers in China who did get one, Lenovo is promising delivery within 2 weeks for the Z2 Pro and 10 days for the Z2.

It’s a 5 incher for gamers. Comparing it to PRO version, it has so many features dashed, that I start thinking they only kept top shelf SoC in it to justify high price.
No CyanogenOS option is a big con, unless global version of their own shell is going to be comparably good.
If reviews confirm that PRO model is as good, as it seems to be, it will become my new phone in few months time. Even tho, I want to return to 5 inches size badly, I will not be considering the Z2 phone.

$273 is a really good price for everything it offers. They could have used a SD650 or Helio X25 and still charged that price. Of course it’s not going to match the PRO, that is their flagship. Just like the Huawei P9 Lite won’t match the regular P9.

Everyone I know with a Z1, one of their biggest complaints is with Cyanogen and it’s lack of updated for that phone. It might not be bad thing that they are using their own ROM.

Hi Balco, I would love to get the Zuk Z2 at 273$. If I send you the money through Paypal can we make the deal work? I am based in Paris.

Thank you for your answer. No worries then no Zuk Z2 for me until I find a coupon code to get it on Ibuygou website.

Just check Kimovil daily for prices. They update it everyday with the cheapest prices around the web. Its still brand new and very few resellers actually have it for sale but over the next few weeks there will be more stores selling and the prices will drop.

Your absolutely right, yet still I’m a bit disappointed. I was expecting a top notch 5 incher eventually and more I read about it, less I like it.
Prices in re-seller shops will not look that good for sure.

It still remains to be seen if it will be a top notch 5 inch phone. This is a direct competitor to the normal Mi5. Compare the two:

          Mi5: SD820, 3GB RAM, 32/64GB ROM 1080P, 3000mAh,
          Zuk: SD820, 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM, 1080P, 3500mAh

On paper it is a better phone than the Mi5, but obviously it needs to be reviewed and we need to see camera, audio and battery performance.

I got tired of waiting for a new phone and the screen on my MX5 was severely cracked (my fault) so I ordered a Nextbit Robin on a whim. Always loved the design of it. But I am seriously considering the OP3 and Zuk Z2 as my second phone, can’t wait to read some reviews on both.

Is there a way to buy it for the Chinese price, rather than the ‘worldwide’ price since there is a huge difference… I am happy with just english on my phone.

    • Danny H.
      June 7, 2016

Yeah, go to China & buy it yourself or have some friends/relative/acquaintance that may travel to China to buy it for you. If not, then you have to pay 3rd party reseller. They have to make some profit for themselves right? Nobody do anything for free you know. Will you do anything for free?

      • Luuk
        June 7, 2016

Then i will have a friend of mine buy in in China. Just wondering if there were some Chinese shops who would ship internationally. I wouldn’t need the international ROM per se. And yes they call it volunteering. give, it a try it is really rewarding.

        • Danny H.
          June 7, 2016

Lots of Chinese shops will ship internationally, ibuygou.com, gearbest, gizchina shop, etc. To name a few. They have to pay postage and make some profit as well. It’s totally understandable. If you want it cheap then wait.

About the volunteering, I guessed you would say that, but it’s an apple to orange kind of thing. When you volunteer, you give away your time & effort, those are yours so you can give away as much as you please. But here, you have to pay your own money upfront to buy an item from a manufacturer and then resell it with the intent of making profit. That doesn’t count the cost you have to endure first like stocking, warehouse, postage, etc. Don’t exchange the ideas! It’s called fallacy.

I get your drift, I was only joking. Back to topic. I am hoping for some more camera review before I buy the phone.. What I have seen so far, dissapoints me a bit to be honest.

    Andi,

Does this have OIS, per the Pro version? It’s extremely difficult to get a reliable spec sheet for either vanilla or Pro …

Also, I’m hoping that neither has the ISOCELL 13MP camera present in the OnePlus X, as it’s pretty crap … perhaps you could also confirm the module.

Provided both vanilla and pro are easily unlocked and rooted, I suspect they’ll be extremely popular phones. Great design and fantastic features at their price points.

    Thanks!

    • Danny H.
      June 7, 2016

There’s nothing difficult to know the exact specs of both phones. Just go to zuk.com and you are done.

Now, on to your questions, only the pro version has both ois & eis, the regular only has ois. Both use sensor from Samsung, so you know the deal. Isocell it is.

        June 7, 2016

There’s no English site for Z2 or Z2 Pro, and the Chinese one is as clear as mud.

Also, my request for clarification was on the specific module. I know it’s ISOCELL, but the one in the OP X (of same 13MP count) is crap.

          June 7, 2016

I use chrome auto translate and it is clear enough for me. As for the camera sensor, they’ve already stated that they use a customized chip from Samsung with the pixel size of 1.34 micron, I’ve check Samsung website and there’s no off the shelf part that have the exact config. What more you want to know?

      • Karly Johnston
        June 7, 2016

        The regular doesn’t have OIS.
