As well as launching the world’s first Tango device, Lenovo have also announced two new models for the Motorola range with Moto Mod add on accessories.
Earlier this year LG released the LG G5 with add on modules that would bring extra features (camera, audio etc) to their flagship phone through snap on modules, well Lenovo and Motorola have come up with something similar with the new Moto Z and Moto Z Force.
Rather than having modules slide into the base of the phone though, the new Moto device have a powerful magnet on the rear where accessories can bee attached too. These attachments are called Moto Mods and at the time of launch there were mods for a battery pack, JBL SoundBoost, a projector and also stylish Moto Shells.
Gizchina News of the week
As for the phones themselves, the Moto Z comes with a 5.5-inch 2K Amoled display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, 13 mega-pixel main camera with OIS, Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4GB RAM. The Z measures in at just 5.19mm which means that the internal battery is just 2600mAh, but Motorola say its good for 30 hours of use and that their new TurboPower charging can give the phone 8 hours of life from just 15 minutes of charge time.
For those of you wanting a larger built-in battery, and a tougher design there there is the Moto Z Force. This model has a larger 6.99mm body with 3500mAh battery, 21 mega-pixel rear camera, and uses Motorola’s 2nd gen ShatterShield tech.
As for availability, the Moto Z will be available globally in September while the Moto Z Force is currently a Verizon only exclusive.
“As well as [laughing] the world’s first Tango device, Lenovo…”
Pun intended? 😀
Those ‘add-ons’ remind me what (Sony-)Ericsson did a decade ago… just saying…
