LeEco Le 2 vs Le 2 Pro Camera Shootout: Low Light

There isn’t much that separates the LeEco Le 2 and it’s slightly more powerful sibling, the Le 2 Pro.

In this post, we’ll be taking a look at how the two differ between each other with regards to camera. Most shots here as you’ll see have been taken in low-light situations, so it would be fair to say this is a low-light shootout.

So let’s take a look at the photos without wasting any time.

Le 2 vs Le 2 Pro Camera: Low Light

At the risk of looking like a maniac with two units of the same phone (that’s how it looks to the naked eye), I went about taking photos of things and stuff a couple of days back. Photos on the left are taken on the Le 2, while those on the right are from the Le 2 Pro.

The Le 2 has a 16 mega-pixel camera whereas the Le 2 Pro features a more powerful 21 mega-pixel sensor.

Gizchina News of the week

Apologies about the couple of photos where I moved my hand away too fast. Interestingly, it happened only with the Le 2 Pro — which clearly is slower in taking photos. Perhaps something the LeEco team will want to work upon.

It would perhaps be fair to say at this stage that the Le 2 is surprisingly the pick in the Le 2 vs Le 2 Pro battle as far as cameras are concerned. I truly hope to see a more optimised ROM for the Le 2 Pro to make use of its available resources (which are more than what the Le 2 affords).

HANDS ON: LeEco Le 2 | Le 2 Pro

The Le 2 comes from Banggood.com whereas the Le 2 Pro can be had from Geekbuying.com.

Am not a photographer but i think the le 2 is good. It reproduces colour better, though the pro capture more light but the le 2 is my choice here. Fast also

Looks to me like le2pro is set all out for low light performance, to the point it gets “confused” by lights in a dark environment, so le2 performs a little better in those cases… Seeing resized pics on a phone screen is not the best way to judge though… However, they both look like great shooters to me

I would give the slight edge to the Le2.

Balco, how would u rate these devices entirely? If u take everything into consideration.

Personally they are not for me because of the missing headphone jack. That’s something I can’t really get past.

In my opinion the results are not valid because you didn’t use a tripod, the shaking of the phone in you hands is clear and can be seen in the photos.

Yeah, like you use a tripod everytime you take a pic… I appreciate more a “real life” test like this than a poitless lab-like test: let’s say a device has a slightly worse camera than the other, but the first has a top notch image stabilization, while the other has none… With a tripod the second device would perform better, but in real life the first one would come on top in every condition!

The problem is you can’t evaluate how much you shake each time you press the button. So you can’t compare 2 low light env pictures took with 2 different devices if you can’t be sure you didn’t create a disadvantage by shaking more when using one device versus the other.

Only thing clear when looking this pics is Le2 Pro captures more light while Le2 keep better contrast.

BTW I think this pictures are average at best and the 2 cameras seems pretty shitty when it comes to low light env. By shitty i mean “not flagship grade”, while Le2 Pro is called a flagship.

That’s right, but the hand is the same so it may shake in a similar way each time, just like your shake yours when taking pics… I have no doubt he’s going to use a tripod too in the review, but for now I’m good with that kind of real life test!

However, “shitty” is a little harsh since only bloggers call it “flagship”, but I don’t remember leeco calling le2 pro that way ? but I get your point!

I think le2 pro cam is better. The difference is in focus speed, were le2 is the winner.

I like both under low light conditions but the Le2 just wins it out for me. Yash do they both have the same f-stop setting? Same apertures?

Is there a X25 version of the Pro? Initially it was supposed to have
been an X25, but I see now most sites have changed the specs to the X20.

This one isn’t, look back at the hands on its a x20. I have also seen bang good and one or 2 other resellers have it as a x20. Kimovil lists both versions, that’s why I am asking if the x25 really exists or whether that was pre release here say.

I have the 820 Max version, and the camera is not bad, but not the main feature of the device.
Main advantages are – great battery life and supreme gaming performance.
Fingerprint also not very fast(slower than my Honor 7’s)

But reviews so far has praised the camera, though not as good as a galaxy x7 but its been shown to perform amazinly. How come camera isn’t one of the strong point for u. And u say battery is great? How much screen on time, lets say for gaming?

No surprise there as the Le2 has the same sensor as Moto G4 Plus which with a score of 84 at DXO mark is 4th on the list.

Photos with le2pro are better, with more light and of course shaking as you moved your hands because are in HDR!

    • June 20, 2016

nope, not in HDR, and that is the problem.
