Meizu MX6 scheduled for launch on 19th July

Meizu are back at it again with a planned launch event to be held on the 19th July in Beijing.

The leak comes from a listing showing events to be held in Beijing next month where a Meizu phone launch is clearly marked for the 19th July.

So once again Meizu will be in Beijing and once again they will have a new phone for us so which device is it going to be? Well it seems highly likely that the phone scheduled for the event is going to be the Meizu MX6, and if that wasn’t enough then here are the likely hardware details for the phone.

Gizchina News of the week

Sources say the Meizu MX6 will feature a design very similar to the current Pro 6 complete with a 1920 x 1080 pressure sensitive display. Mediatek will once again proved the processing power, this time in the form of the Helio X20 while memory options will be either 3+32GB or 4+64GB.

Other details will include an 8 mega-pixel front camera, 20.7 mega-pixel rear, HIFI audio and a retail price starting at just 1799 Yuan.

Yeah, give it some kind of reason of existing giving it m3 note’s battery please, so it would differ in some department from pro 6…

Hopefully they don’t plan on using such a small capacity, the battery life on that phone is supposed to be pretty bad. It would be cool too see a big one in a powerful phone.

I know a few people who have the Pro 6 none of them have complaints about the battery life. It is small on paper but in actual usage they all say they get a full day with heavy usage and a 1.5 days with light usage.

“full day” is a bit vague (usage may differ), but I would gladly upgrade from “decent” to “very good” ?

Battery life in general is a very subjective measure. Everyone uses different brightness settings, different apps, and has different network performance. Two people can have the same exact phone with drastically different battery times.

              I know… That’s where a big battery comes in handy! ?

Hi Balco, I am considering the Zuk Z2 which is sold around 265€ through Ibuygou website in a flash sale. There are only a few review out there and can’t decide yet if I should buy it or not. It offers a lot for that price, I am wondering if its camera is good. For a long time I considered getting budget phones but by adding 80-90€ more I could get the Zuk Z2 which is pretty close to a flagship in terms of specs. It’s design is not a revolution but I am fine with it. Thanks in advance!

I would wait for some reviews of it before buying it, reviews are still scarce for it and it is too new to really make a recommendation.

You are definitely right! I will wait for reviews. It is a shame that oneplus is not releasing a OP3 with 3gb ram and 32gb storage, the price would have been lower. I hope Zuk Z2 is a killer device!
              Peace Balco!

It looks like a great phone to me. I’d definitely buy it if I was looking for a smaller phone, it has a 5″ screen.

Other than that, it uses the SD820, has a large battery, and support for network bands all over the world.

I am interesting by Pro 6, if that really the battery life will give full day with middle usage not even heavy, is it really that is good in actual usage ?
is that mean the “X25 processor” and “Not FHD” screen will not use more battery than Mi5 for example, and the 2560 mah will be enough in Pro 6 ?

          • balcobomber25
            June 22, 2016

Everyone I know that has one says its enough but battery life in general is very subjective, no two people will have the same results as everyone’s usage is different. And Fyi, the Pro 6 and Mi5 both have an FHD display: Mi5 has a 5.15″ 1080P IPS LCD, Pro 6 has a 5.2″ 1080P Super AMOLED.

          June 23, 2016

I would still consider that pretty bad. I’d want a phone that can’t run out within a day at least. 3 days of light usage would be a dream.

        June 20, 2016

Thanks to meizu’s optimization, I’m sure battery life isn’t bad as it sound, but I agree with you: it would be nice to see a powerful phone with a power battery…

Hopefully, oukitel k6000 premium (if it actually comes out during this year) will be a decent choice in this way

        • Max
          June 23, 2016

Has the K6000 Premium even been confirmed? It seems too good to be true to me, considering the phones they released earlier are all pretty low-budget.

            June 23, 2016

Yeah it’s confirmed, there’s even some videos with some test on a pre-production dummy somewhere, if I’m not wrong… More than “if” it’ll be released, what’s bugging me is “when” it’ll be released… My speculation is not before Q4, maybe even December, and I’m still being optimistic…

        June 20, 2016

Looking at how thin the phone looks from the render, its physical dimensions and a FHD screen, I would hazard a guess of 3000 or maybe 3500 mAh? I don’t think it will go much over that which is a shame..

        • Max
          June 23, 2016

Most guesses based on size would be inaccurate. Take the Redmi 3, for example. It has a huge 4000mAh battery and frame size into which manufacturers would usually only put batteries under 3000mAh.

MX series aren’t flagship, even Pro6 with MTK SoC. They are upper midrange phones.

When Meizu released MX4, it had good camera in market conditions. But after MX4, I don’t want to talk about Meizu’s cameras.

High expectations for reasonable price. It is not possible for Meizu. Just go LeeTv or Xioami brands.

Lalte notification and slow scrolling on M1 Note made me crazy. No, thanks Meizu!

    • Kekrembec
      June 21, 2016

People not complaining about late notifications after Flyme 5 release. It took one year to fix. So, you need to wait at least one more year Meizu to fix slow scrolling?

something is off from Meizu… or the big wigs are plain crazy. this is soo unlike them to collide WITHIN their OWN ranks of phone lineups !

      June 22, 2016

The Meizu Metal wound up being a bit of an odd choice as in many areas it was comparable to their current flagship the MX5 (of course it wasn’t the same build quality, and the camera wasn’t as good, but in many areas it was pretty close) so it’s not unprecedented for them to put out phones with similar spec-sheets and designs but at different price points. Either way, I just can’t get excited about Meizu’s line-up this year so far. Last year the M2, M2 Note, MX5 and Pro 5 were all, I think, great devices. The Metal, M3 Note and Pro 6 all seem to have compromises that really shouldn’t be there.

As a European user, MX5 is my first and last Meizu device. Because Meizu has not reliable software policy. First, international firmware updates are not regular and stable. If you don’t know English, you have to use international roms because Meizu deleted international languages on Chinese roms. So, you can not reach updated stable roms in European languages. Second and last surprise from Meizu was to disable root permission on international roms. Also, i suffered from slow scroll. As a result, no Meizu, no thanks for MX6. Good lucks!

Nowadays people complain about slow scrolling in Flyme 4.5 and 5.x. with high voice. I think it is not hard for Flyme developers to add scrolling speed options in settings menu. It is very simple if slow scrolling is not about optimization.
