Gizchina News of the week
First spotted by The Gadget Freak, the iWork 8 Air can boot into either Android 5.1 or Windows 10, which is pretty much the standard for dual booting tablets these days. The iWork 8 Air is only on pre-order for now, with an asking price of $99 and an expected shipping date of 26th June.
It’s such a shame that all tablet manufacturers insist on running with the lowly z8300, about time we had a few z8500/8700. There would be some nice dual boot tablets around if they did as they just keep releasing the same old spec over and over with slightly different names. If they want the same success as their phone counterparts receive they do need to start upping their game and including things like fully laminated displays, wireless AC and more powerful processors, hard to find a tablet now without an Intel CPU which is a crying shame.
Won’t be too long though (if you read, Intel is giving up pretty much on the mobile SoC business). Also, it is perhaps the compatibility with Windows that makes Intel chips attractive for these tablet companies.
I know that but they nearly destroyed the PC market with they’re malpractices with AMD and they seemed to be heading in the same direction with mobile SoC’s. I have nothing against manufacturers using them for Windows based tablets, but it annoys me that getting a decent Android tablet is almost impossible as they all use the z8300. My experience with it in its Android guise is a lot of incompatibility issues with various apps. Hopefully they’ve nearly used up all their stock of this dreadful chip?
That’s the paradox: there are ALWAYS more stocks of bad chips, even when there’s none left… Just look at mediatek: stocks of 6735 are just never-ending! ?
Oh gawd, I don’t even want to think about it: throughout this year we’re going to see so much 6580 device I’m going to want 6735 back ?
Yeah and 6753 also like never-ending.
In the long run maybe can backfired to mediatek.
Now if i heard the word “mediatek”, what come out in their mind is “cheapo, slow, not supported chips” muahahahahaha freakin’ idiot. Worse is their smartphone also not really cheap compare to medium end snapdragon. If only different $20 then why i should buy low end mediatek ????
But again, a lot i mean A LOT of people are really darn ignorant. They just don’t care with specs.
