So far Vernee are doing their best in terms of software product care and seems like that we are already getting third update for Vernee Thor next week. The Norse god is on the market only for a short period of time so getting frequent updates in such frantic pace is a good thing, thumbs up.
Gizchina News of the week
So what’s going to be part of this update ? First of all there will be optimizations of the proximity sensor, because some users reported problems with it in direct sunlight. Google Security pack will be included in the package and also some tweaks for improving the Wi-Fi connection.
The update should also lower the energy consumptions when you have mobile data and Wi-Fi turned off. Last but least it should also increase the security for the Bluetooth and wireless connections and improve the speed of 2G internet.
So far thor’s owners seem to be happy with it… Now, if only they could release the apollo lite already… ?
I had mixed reactions in my 2 weeks using one. Not good but not bad either, the definition of an average phone.
Were there major issues?
No nothing major for me at least. I have seen forum posts of hardware issues/failures. That’s expected with a first phone though
Good to know… Yeah problems are to be expected from every phone in general: many reviewers’ mi5 samples had build issue, and xiaomi is known for having good build quality… No one is saved from this, let alone the first phone ever engineered and built… However, with released sources I’m sure roms will fix many things, staying into reasonable limits (let’s say, a 6753 phone will never make “very good” pics due to chip’s sw limits)
Custom rom’s can fix a lot of things but they are not a cure-all. A different rom will have no effect on a hardware failure, which is something a lot of new brands suffer with their first releases. The only thing that fixes that is a warranty (which will be the real test of how good Vernee is).
Vernee Thor seems to be a very good phone. Too bad it doesn’t have backlight buttons, I could have bought it too… I hate buttons with no light… =(
I can’t wait for the Vernee Apollo Lite. I hope it’s also good.
The do a better job than umi.
