The Oppo Find 9 is currently the unicorn of the Chinese smartphone world, but recent rumblings from China suggest the phone might be more than vapour.
Although I had a terrible experience with my own Oppo Find 7 (screen issues) I did enjoy the phone, and I really liked the camera performance of the time. In fact my fond memories of the device surpass the problems and I would totally have another Find model, which brings us on to this new render.
Over the past 2 years, renders and ‘leaks’ of purported Oppo Find 9 phones have appeared across the web, but it’s only the past few months that things have become really interesting.
During this time we have seen Vivo finally launch a replacement for the 2 year old Xplay 3S and Xiaomi finally launch a flagship to take over from the Mi4, so what about Oppo.
Gizchina News of the week
Well apparently this image shows us what the Oppo Find 9 will look like in the flesh, and as you can see it’s not all that different from the Find 7, or in fact the OnePlus One.
The render shows us the phone will have a bezel-less display, and a two tone metal chassis, with Type C USB in the base. It also appears that the Skylight notification beam has been updated to RGB.
This isn’t the only recent leak, an early one showed us specs for the Oppo Find 9 including a 5.5-inch 2K display, 16 megapixel front camera, 21 mega-pixel rear camera, 4100mAh battery and VOOC fast charging. What really stood out in those specs was a Snapdragon 821 chipset and 8GB RAM, quite the performer!
No details on a launch date, but let’s wait to see if any of these specs are the real deal or not before we get too excited.
The design looks pretty good (we can’t expect less from an Oppo flagship), but hey, Oppo, wake up! Android 5.1 has been deprecated for quite a while now, don’t release a flagship with this version, it is not serious!
(but 100% credible, unfortunately…)
Where is fingerprint? Under the screen?
I think this is just a fan based stuff because it looks like so much like the Find 7.
Rear speakers? doubt it
Type C USB2 on a flagship? Doubtful..
Render and drawing aren’t consistant : the render shows a flat screen while the drawing shows an edge screen.
I won’t bet on any of this two, as the render shows no button on left side (usual place for power button on Oppo flagships) and the drawing shows an exact Find 7 back panel and a strange front panel with low screen/body ratio and an edge screen.
