It’s no secret that Xiaomi are preparing a new flagship smartphone and that it may feature a dual camera design, but just what device it is remains a mystery.
There is plenty of chatter in China about a new Xiaomi Mi5S, basically a souped up version of the current Xiaomi Mi5, and of a Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Along with rumours of these two phones there is talk of curved Samsung displays and even dual camera designs.
A new leak this morning reveals a phone featuring the Xiaomi Mi5/Mi Note’s 3D curved design along with 2 rear camera sensors and dual tone LED flash.
Gizchina News of the week
The render also shows us the front corner of the phone and from the metal chassis (which follows the curve of the rear panel) we can guess that this will either be an updated Xiaomi Mi5 or a new Mi Note 2 with new metal chassis design.
Rumours for the new phones also include a hidden fingerprint scanner (a big hope for us as the current Mi5 solution isn’t the prettiest) Snapdragon 820 chipset, 6GB RAM and the option of a 2K display (on the Mi Note 2 at least).
Xiaomi are expected to release these two phones later in the summer and we expect more leaks, rumours and teasers to come in time.
Of course, they never release black version first ?
Don’t know why they show black phones.
Black color must be expensive in China hahaha
Yeah now the trend for Xiaomi is black/grey color is the most expensive, very weird indeed.
this is going to be a BEAST of a phone at the BEAST of a price :p !
prepare yer pockets for ATLEAST $500 deductions !
aww YISSS man !
finally ! a dual cam phone with BEAST CPU and a good price tag !
thx for the howler bro !
Not a beast CPU but not bad. We’ll see how they price it , if they go 1499CNY or they can do better. Too bad it’s AMOLED, will look grainy and the PenTile pattern will be visible at 6 inch.
BTW don’t overestimate the value of dual cams. Maybe you would find this link useful (don’t forget the check out the cost of the cams) http://blog.ihs.com/huawei-p9-smartphone-teardown-by-ihs-reveals-strengths-and-some-misses
yea… all the ‘modules’ are covered under a SINGLE head , thats like $20 ($19.50 to b exact)
soo…. how much did the dual cams cost separate ?
also , no properly aggregated BOM. everything is separately listed.
The BOM is at the top of the table .As for more details, they keep those for paying customers so you’ll have to just assume things.
