Seems like the popularity of the tablets with the “Surface” 3:2 aspect ratio is growing and even gaining momentum, at least looking at the latest reveals of the chinese tablet manufacturers. Another interesting piece is from the hands of Chuwi and i have to say the Chuwi Vi10 Plus looks pretty interesting.
The main selling point officially is surely the 3:2 10,8-inch screen with 1920 x 1280 pixel resolution and 450 nit brightness, Chuwi claim it’s the same panel used in Microsoft Surface 3. Hardware inside is a bit worse than the Surface tho, because i have a strong feeling that the announced Intel Atom X5 is once again the weakest Z8300. Tablet will be available in two configurations, the cheaper 2 GB RAM/32 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM/64 GB version. 8400 mAh Li-Pol battery, USB 3.0 Type-C and 5V/3A fast charge support are quite nice stat lines though.
Gizchina News of the week
Most interesting to me personally is the choice of the systems, because while the 2/32 model will come only with pre-installed Windows 10 the higher 4/64 gets the awesome dualboo option with Windows 10/ Remix OS 2.0 (finally !!!). Those who opt for the lower version are not being robbed, because you can still manually flash the dualboot image, althought dividing the 32 GB partition is kind of pushing it.
There will be also detachable magnetic docking keyboard available as an optional accessory, but from the pictures it looks quite basic and without the metal sturdy build of for example Chuwi HiBook one. On the other hand it will be surely lighter and will better compliment the 686 g of the tablet itself. Chuwi Vi10 Plus is expected to be released already in July and i’m personally very much looking forward to it, although the price is not set yet.
Chromebook Pixel had 3:2 aspect ration before Microsoft did it. Shame it is not Remix OS 3.0 (Android 6.0) on the dual boot.
