Xiaomi’s Redmi Pro really grabbed my attention with it’s dual camera design, but could a Redmi Pro Mini with single camera get the same reception?
Xiaomi weren’t coy when they teased the Redmi Pro, and right out of the gate we know the phone would get a new brushed metal finish and be the first Xiaomi to receive a dual camera design.
In fact it’s that dual camera design, Helio X25 chipset and large battery which really made waves at the launch, but could a ‘mini’ Redmi Pro with slightly different specifications get the same fan response?
Weibo user and top tipster, Kjuma, has today posted details a purported Xiaomi Redmi Pro Mini. The infamous tipster has detailed an all metal phone with slightly smaller 5.2-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 652 and up to 4GB RAM.
Gizchina News of the week
The tipster also notes that the body be more compact, retain a 4000mAh battery and fast charging but have room for just a single rear camera.
Apparently the Xiaomi Redmi Pro Mini will launch at 1499 Yuan with 3GB RAM and 32GB memory, rising to 1899 Yuan for the 4GB RAM 128GB variant, numbers that are rather close to the current Redmi Pro price points!
Personally I would prefer the dual camera design of the larger Redmi Pro at 1999 Yuan, but I understand some of you will prefer the smaller form factor and bigger memory. Which side of the fence to you sit on?
Definitely Redmi Pro mini when it comes to this two Pro 5.5 and Pro min 5.2. Though any smartphone from Xiaomi isn’t on my list due to lack of LTE 20 band support.
Considering value for money 1+3 seems to be the best choice right now, at least for myself.
I just got my new phone, a Zuk Z2 Pro (just like you looking for one with Band 20). You might what to check it out. I like smaller phones and the Zuk Z2 pro 5.2″ is about as big as “older” 5″ phone (it’s a bit smaller than the Nexus 5X)
I’m a fan of this phone too, even tho – haven’t otuched it yet. I’m pretty sure, I’ll be getting one in few months time.
Worth highlithing – only PRO version supports Band 20, so no one should assume regular automatically Z2 has it too – it does not!
