Xiaomi’s VR headset has been in the works for a while now, and it looks like the company is finally going to take the wraps off of the device on the 4th of August, also known as this month.
This news comes from Xiaomi’s latest bunch of teasers for the device, which don’t really show much about the device. While there aren’t many details about the headset, we do know it exists thanks to Xiaomi general manager Tang Mu.
Tang goes on to tell us that Xiaomi’s VR headset will be compatible with Google’s Daydream VR platform. What this means is that Xiaomi can optimize MIUI for VR, something they’ve complained about in the past.
With this, Xiaomi is now set to join the mobile VR headset wars along with Lenovo, Samsung and Huawei. Whether they succeed or not however is a completely different story, and one that we can’t wait to cover in the future.
What do you think about Xiaomi’s upcoming VR headset? Will it offer enough to compete with it’s rival products? Tell us in the comments below.
