Sketches a box and now a stainless steel watch strap with the Meizu logo printed on it, is this the most undeniable proof of a Meizu watch so far?
Smartphone manufacturers have been diversifying their ranges all year now with brands like Elephone launching pro gaming keyboards and e-cig, to Xiaomi launching bikes, laptops and drones, so how about Meizu?
Well back when Meizu launched the MX4 the company did make a tentative step in to other products with a wearable (made by inwatch) and a few other accessories, Meizu also launched some health tech and a few earphones/headphones, but nothing on the scale of other brands.
Gizchina News of the week
This might all be on the brink of changing though, with the Zhuhai phone maker looking to be on the edge of launching its first Meizu branded smartwatch.
The latest leak shows a stainless steel linked strap with the Meizu logo stamped in it and comes from tipster Kjuma, the same Weibo leaker who showed us the first Meizu watch sketches and a box that the wearable could be sold in.
No further details have been found but it seems likely whatever wearable Meizu will have in store for us is likely to use a Mediatek chipset, and may well launch during their E event later this month.
