Zopo look like they might have finally woken up and are pricing their phones correctly with the announcement that their budget Hero 2 will cost under $70.
Zopo have quite a history of making phones with low-end hardware only to over price them, but they might have finally learned their lesson with the launch of the Zopo Hero 2.
At $69.99 the phone is aimed at the entry-level segment of the Chinese phone market, and will see fierce competition from the likes of UMi, Bluboo, Blackview and Elephone, but this time they have good specs to match.
Gizchina News of the week
In addition to a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the phone, the handset also has a quad-core Mediatek chipset, 1GB RAM and 16GB memory (plus space for 64GB SD cards). The rear camera is an 8 mega-pixel model with dual LED flash for help in low-light conditions while the front is a 2 mega-pixel selfie shooter.
Android 6.0 comes on the phone as standard, and from what we can see from the press images it might be an untouched stock installation.
Zopo are teaming up with AliExpress, Gearbest and Igogo to sell the Zopo Hero 2 which should be available to buy later this month.
