Xiaomi’s smartwatch could launch on the 25th August, but insiders are warning fans to expect a hefty price tag.
We don’t really know what Xiaomi have planned for their smartwatch (although we are sure it is going to be a little more advanced than their Mi Band wearable) so at this stage it could be anything from a simple analogue watch like Meizu’s or a real Android Wear device.
What we do know though is that “people who live sports” will like the new Xiaomi watch and that the RRP for the wearable will be higher than we have come to expect from the Beijing phone maker.
Gizchina News of the week
This information comes from Chinese officials via their Weibo accounts who must be privy to what Xiaomi are up to.
A rough design of the Xiaomi watch has also been sighted showing a device that actually looks like a watch with display, physical buttons and the Xiaomi logo on the front, but again this on its own isn’t too much to go on.
Xiaomi are also expected to release their Redmi 4 during the 25th August event so watch out for official launch news next week.
