Just few days ago Homtom announced that they are working on a new model designated HT20, which should be some kind of a crossover between the rugged and a bussiness smartphone. Meaning the looks should be more bussiness-like and the hardware inside and features more inclining towards the rugged heritage.
We already know that the HT20 will have the IP68 certification making it water, dust and humidity proof and that thanks to vacuum technology of its construction the body will be very sturdy. The used materials should be up to military standards and the Homtom HT20 should also bump and fall resistent. And the main camera has been announced as a 13 Mpix shooter.
Gizchina News of the week
Today we can extend the known specs information about the 4,7-inch display with HD resolution, MT6737 processor supported by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of storage, 3500 mAh battery capacity, 4G support and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Nothing groundbreaking but for a rugged device still not so bad if they manage to keep the price low.
Homtom HT20 will be available in three different colors – Army Green, Vibrant White and Elegant Black. Rugged roots of the device are also pretty evident when we look at the 12,9 mm thick body, but that has to be expected and in the cathegory it’s actually still relatively slim.
Now we just have to wait for the most important pieces of info to be revealed, the exact launch date and of course the price.

Have just purchased the HT20 and everything is as they say BUT there is a couple of big issues
1. the amount of information you get in the little manual they send, you get 10 very small pages of information mainly phone construction, front and rear views, a couple of tables with icons on them and a table with basic error messages.
2. Missing/Hiding GPS function.
I have been in contact with them over finding the GPS function and being a newbie to smart phones I needed help as try as I might I could not locate it.
Their replies are in order,
Read Manual (nothing there),
In Settings ( no nothing there either do I need an App)
No App In Settings try again (nope still nothing there)
I expect some difficulty with the language barrier but if they are going to sell to oversea perhaps a downloadable manual that list all functions and how to access them may be good idea.
By the By if anyone knows where the the GPS function is on the HT20 and how to access it help would be most appreciated.
