Xiaomi’s bread and butter has always been their smooth version of Android, MIUI. This custom ROM comes pre-installed on all of Xiaomi’s devices, with an existence preceding the very company that develops it.
MIUI has always been focused on providing casual users with simplicity and giving advanced users the tools to tweak and customize MIUI to their liking. Love it or hate it, it’s tough to argue that the ROM is by far one of the most prolific custom ROMs to come out of China.
Several years later, Xiaomi is now rolling out the 8th iteration of MIUI to many of their devices, and things seem to be better than ever. With more than 2 million global users, it may take a while for you to receive the update, so Xiaomi has also made it available on their website, making things way easier for some people.

Have mi4c tried miui for an hour flashed cm not for me. Personally it seems like a iOS based design and more focused at Asian customers. Have xiaomi hybrid ear phones and using miui they did not sound great so that was my biggest reason to ditch the ROM as my phone is used a lot for music. Miui is a bit like Marmite you either love or hate it!
