‘Purists’ might disagree, but AnTuTu benchmark scores remain a very important measure of how powerful a phone is, for many consumers.
The Redmi Note 4 was only launched yesterday, but there’s (obviously) a huge interest around the device. The phone comes powered with a MediaTek Helio X20, which is a first for the Redmi series. You can find the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 full specifications here.

So, how much does the Redmi Note 4 score at AnTuTu? We have an answer – somewhere around the 85,000 points mark. Have a look at the screen grab below for a more precise number.
Some Helio X20 phones manage to score a little more than the 85k of the Redmi Note 4, but it’s still in the 10% range. Do you think the Redmi Note 4 update was way too incremental? Let us know in the comments section below. If yes, let us also know what you would rather see in the Redmi Note 4!
It was the first with the Redmi name but it was a considered a different product segment than the Redmi phones. I think that’s more of what Yash was getting at.
If they improved the camera over the redmi note 3 pro, then this is an upgrade. Otherwise I see this as an underwhelming new model. Nothing against the helio x20, as I think it is an excellent SoC, but the SD 650 is perfectly adequate for my needs, and there is little else to differentiate the note 4 from the note 3 pro. Admittedly, the note 3 pro needed very little improvement, so if the cam on this is better, it may well be my next phone….. Or I’ll pick up a note 3 pro at a bargain price.
a better camera could really damage the value for money ratio with the redmi note line, seeing how good camera sensors creep up on soc interms of pricing
With SoC’s as powerful as they are now, I’d gladly take a better camera with a weaker SoC than the x20. I understand everyone’s needs are different, but a SD 625, 650, helio p10 (though I was expecting better performance out of that one), or even a mtk 6752 would all be sufficient for me, if paired with a good cam. Not expecting flagship camera performance, but something in line with the mi4, or. Mi4c would be perfect.
true.. they did that for the zenfone 3 they put in a flagship grade sensor and weaker soc and people are complaining about the price hard i think the same would happen to the redmi note line
I like the zenfone 3, but would like to see a much larger battery, and it is way overpriced even for a good camera. Can get an mi5 for that.
i think it could be cheaper but for me personally i wouldnt go mi5 for its poor video stabilization and weaker low light performance, i think what skyrockedted the zenfone 3, was the build materials the glass etc maybe the speakers and the dedicated color sensor seeing how people dont care too much about speaker quality and glass design at entry level maybe they should have just dropped those
I think you are right on that. If the would have done a good cam, and the same processor, at a cheaper price with average speaker/glass it might have been easier to market
