It’s been weeks since we’ve been reading about Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s explosions from every side of the world. Samsung themselves had issued a global recall on September 2nd and told its customers to turn off their devices on September 10th, but obviously not everybody has complied yet.
This time the victim of the explosion was a 6-year-old kid from Brooklyn who had the Note 7 blasting in his hands.
“The child was watching videos on the phone when the battery exploded,” Linda Lewis said of her grandson to the New York Post.
“It set off alarms in my house.”
The family called 911 just after and he was taken to the Downstate Medical Center with burns to his body.
When the young boy came back home he was still under shock and refused to use any other smartphone:

“He is home now,” Lewis said. “He doesn’t want to see or go near any phones. He’s been crying to his mother.”
The grandmother said she has been contacted by Samsung but didn’t want to discuss the matter any further.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s battery problem is rapidly becoming a serious issue both for people and for the Korean company which has seen their shares sink down (-7%) in the last days.
Let’s hope people will begin returning their smartphones and that episodes of this kind won’t repeat again. In the meanwhile, what are your thoughts about these phones that have been exploding left, right and center?
samsung is in the wrong here but why in the hell this child’s parents let their child near something that’s essentially a time bomb?
Not everybody reads the news and even if you do read the news you can easily miss something that’s more tech orientated.
Because not everyone is a tech savvy person who spends his or her time online looking up tech news?
Seems that Note 7 owners are idiots, it’s been a lot of days since was told to return their units and they keep using it, return mean to turn off the phone and send back to Samsung. Is that so hard to understand?
You don’t send it to Samsung. You take it back to your carrier and they give a cheap $100 garbage until 2 months for the replacements. Nobody wants to do that.
They would prefer to use a $920 phone, not $100 crap. They could at least hook you up with S7 Edge.
It’s a bomb!! I don’t care if it cost 900 or 2000 dollars, if you know that crap could explode don’t use it and wait for a replacement
Probably because she’s an grandmother who doesn’t spend her time online reading news articles about Android devices?
Samsung are even larger idiots in this case. You don’t sell bombs to people, especially for such a high price while knowing that 70% of these people are people who just went with the flow and bought the Note 7 because it’s popular and won’t even know that they’re holding time bombs.
