So we know that LeEco are working on a new flagship, but we weren’t expecting the device to also pack the most amount of RAM that we have ever seen in a smartphone!!
Can you believe that at the start of the year we were “making do” with phone with “just” 4GB RAM? It seems like it was only yesterday that Asus shocked the world with the first 4GB RAM phone on the market, and now today we’re looking at a device with potentially double that!
LeEco are no strangers of making phones with huge amounts of RAM, however we weren’t expecting them to raise the bar!
In a recently leaked image, specifications for 2 versions of the LeEco Pro 3 have been disclosed. The ‘Standard” version has a lowly 6GB RAM, but the flagship version is listed with a huge 8GB RAM!!
Gizchina News of the week
The leak reveals more than just incredible amounts of RAM though, and goes in to great detail for both versions of the unreleased Pro 3.
If we look back to the 6GB RAM version of the device we see that LeEco have opted for 64GB internal memory, a Snapdragon 821 chipset, 16 mega-pixel rear camera, 8 mega-pixel front, 4070mAh battery, and 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 2.5D display.
What we are really interested in though is that 8GB RAM model, that actually has a large 5.7-inch 2K display and larger 5000mAh battery. In fact almost everything is bigger on the second phone such as a front facing 13 mega-pixel camera, and 256GB internal memory.
Not all the details are complete though as the pricing for each phone has been cleverly disguised.
8GB RAM!? Are you ready for a new standard of flagship Chinese phone?
They really got the battery right this time. With a well optimized OS, this phone is a winner.
Sony are not the kind to follow with these trends. They’ve become a niche in the Android market anyways. But I think that their phone would manage the RAM better than this brand of phone would.
Nice 🙂
I’m excited about batteries, more than the ram… Will the dark reign of “3000mah battery, 3.5 hours sot” flagships ever come to an end?
Literally can’t believe 2 years later 3.5-5 is considered average-good, when in 2014 the OPO could get nearly 8 in kitkat with 3000mah
Producers relied too much on antutu as a selling point: too much power, while batteries stayed the same… No wonder things went downhill from that point onwards!
so what if there is 40 gb of ram??? Bring a battery that can give us 9h sot with that useless 2k display and I’m interested.
I’m ready to bet 5000mah isn’t enough
Meh
Call me when there is a 32GB ram phone
What can you today do with 8GB you can’t with 2GB RAM?
more marketing
Make a whole day simulation sessions in Chrome including lots of tabs opened at the same time, make one of them Facebook & you are (after longer usage) already down to 4 GB of the free RAM.. But seriously they should pool the brake at 8GB.
Funy thing is if you could install full Ubuntu Linux natively on the phone you would be able to compile complete 6.xx+ ROM(‘s) with this one as requirement is 8GB of RAM.
Hahaha definitely true. Man 8GB RAM on a phone, the market is going crazy!!! On my Asus laptop I do have 8GB RAM but most of the computers out there only have 4GB RAM. I guess that sooner or later we will have phones with 64GB RAM LOL. Even Xiaomi will release a 6GB RAM version for the MI5S to justify their high prices.
Yes but your laptops on desktop alike OSes use virtual memory to aid them. It’s not a like you can’t use SWAP on Android but still it’s not a best solution in any of circumstances. Let me show you what I actually mean.

i bet the price it will be up to 600$ for that 8GB ram
I should have waited a little.. I just got the Le Max 2.
Their supply chain isn’t the best, mate. You can expect this one to release next week… but it’ll take another 3 weeks to reach resellers.
A month time is just for the phones to reach resellers like Banggood, Geekbuying, Gearbest. They go unsold for a couple more weeks even after pre-sale.
And even then it would take at least 2 weeks for delivery, so I’d say 2 months minimum.
lol … you should be happy :p
Le Max 2 is a FANTASTIC phone … or so i have heard
Don’t worry pal I just got myself a LeTV S1 x600 32gb version. It will serve me for a good 2-3 years easily. I upgraded from a ZOPO C2 and it’s an amazing phone.
