Xiaomi will be hosting a press conference on September 21st where they are most likely going to announce the new flagship Xiaomi Mi Note 2, alongside what appears to be a new USB Type-C power bank, as Mi community’s Weibo webpage suggests.
Rumors about the Xiaomi power bank
In the picture we notice the number “100”, which is created by the combination of 1 USB Type-A port, 1 USB Type-C port and a Type-B (micro USB) port. Maybe what they mean with “100” is that it’ll cost 100 yuan ($15)?
Gizchina News of the week
As of now, there are no official info about the teased power bank so we can only speculate it’ll have a larger capacity compared to older Xiaomi power banks, perhaps enough to fully charge the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air they released few months back.
Now, what are your thoughts? Do you expect it to have any special features? Let us know in the comments below.
some quick charge 2.0 or 3.0?
QC 3 in and out (for charging power bank from outlet AND for charging phone from power bank).
Around 99.9% sure it’ll support Quick Charge 3.0.
Readers, plz reconsidere before posting any joke about Xiaomi exploding devices as it can NOT be a special feature of this new power bank. Thanks by advance.
You never know, they might surprise you!

Plus it could have 8GB ROM and some kind of led light to find your keys as other constructors already did it.
As for me, I only wish they downsize their powerbank ’cause that’s the only thing that stops me from buying one.

If it has USB C it needs USB Power Delivery support. QC won’t cut it as that can’t charge my laptop unlike PD.
Think of it as the equivalent of dumb vs smart chargers with micro USB. Except in this case dumb can provide 15W for my phone, smart can provide 100W for my phone, laptop, small desktop computer, hard drives, batteries… Everything really. And daisy chain too.
Yes, you’re correct. USB type-C is a pretty generic term but that’s all we know as of yet.
