Xiaomi Mi 5S camera sample surfaces; ‘Mi 5S’ moniker confirmed

Xiaomi Mi 5S

While we wait for Xiaomi’s official announcement of the Xiaomi Mi 5S, which is going to happen on September 27th, Lei Jun — Xiaomi’s CEO — has posted a photo taken from the Xiaomi Mi 5S on a Chinese social media. Thus giving us more info about the upcoming Xiaomi’s flagship.

The image has then been downloaded and, examining the EXIF data, people were able to look at the camera specs and the real name of the smartphone, i.e. Xiaomi Mi 5S, right in line with what was expected.

Gizchina News of the week

Xiaomi Mi 5S

As you can see from the EXIF data above, the photo has been shot at a shutter speed og 1/750 sec, ISO 100, aperture of F/2.0, with a resolution of 3264 x 2448. Which means we’re looking at a 13MP camera sensor (at least).

This news comes after the one suggesting a dual camera setup for the Xiaomi Mi 5S. What do you guys think about the photo? Does it look promising?

Never trust camera samples from oems, as of lately xiaomi cameras don’t deliver the MI 5 was noisy for a flagship the MI Max isn’t impressive, and seeing this sample just gives me deja vu on how amazing the MI 5 camera was supposed to be

That is a fine looking picture. That is what I can say. EXIF data can be manipulated.

    Nice boat Mr. Lei Jun!

I take manufacturer supplied camera samples with a huge grain of salt. They are usually taken by a professional photographer, heavily edited and often times not even taken with the actual phone (which happens with a lot more than just Huawei, they are just the ones to get caught).

I just finished a messy divorced as well. I share the feeling. But I don’t feel sorry for you man. As I don’t feel sorry for myself. Divorce isn’t a bad thing. I would feel sorry to see people staying together while their union is obviously not working. So, let’s enjoy the life.

13in or plus MP means it’s not a newer sensor with bigger pixels, F2.0 also means mid grade. Are two better then (top) one? Probably not. Would a single top sensor & a top optics optics cost less than a dual mid If they get to the lv of cheaper mid grade Samsung like J7-A7 we should probably be satisfied.

Would a single top sensor & a top optics cost less than a dual mid range ones? Probably yes. But then you couldn’t say wow it has a dull sensor.
