Let us know what you think about the Mi 5s Plus, aka Xiaomi’s most powerful phone ever!
Can you confirm if the mi5s plus also has the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor? Would make sense since it is the most expensive one, but you never know.
I have a feeling it does not have it; the non plus has it via the glass front; since here it is mounted on the rear, I’d say they would not venture with 2 innovations on a new model (aka dual cam and ultrasonic).
But I might be wrong. It frequently happens 🙂
They did not brag about it so I assume it’s not an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, sadly!
Sadly. With it not having a ultrasonic sensor and the screen being FHD on 5.7” I’m on the fence… I think the smaller one might be better… Although being a bit weaker on specs and not having the dual camera setup.
relax, it is not AMOLED with pentile, it is IPS, 1080 is enough for everything except VR
only market phone… no quality
sony imx258 with useless seconday monochrome… no OIS … IPS display….
Monochrome sensor is 3x more light sensitive than RGB sensors. So it function is improving light sensitivity, not just taking BW photos.
2 reason I can think, one of is lower cost and another one is larger sensor requires longer focal point and that means increasing z height (thickness) of the camera module. So the camera module either would stick out or the phone would be thicker.
If you are curious about why Mi5s’ main camera despite its larger sensor is flush with the body, reason is its placement. Plus’ camera duo is right behind the screen and it adds its own thickness to camera’s thickness.
5.7 1080p and they call it a flagship? 2 average sensors as a marketing gimmick instesd of a great single sensor and because they can’t have OIS , they remove it from the 5S too.
Looks like an unfinished phone too me, if you give the same name, both phones should look at least the same…
