UMi seeding important OTAs for UMi Super & UMi Max

After launching the UMi Plus and announcing the UMi Plus Extreme, UMi doesn’t rest and pushes out two new OTA updates. Let’s check them out!

These OTA updates address specifically the UMi Super and UMi Max, from the size of the file (300MB) it appears to be an important one.

But let’s go through the Changelog:

UMi Super (V3.02_20160923 firmware)

New, advanced stock camera app with Pro mode
Improved camera performance
New touch screen driver
Improved fingerprint sensor performance
Updated GMS (Google) apps
Other minor bug fixes

UMi Max (V1.01_20160923 firmware)

The updates improve mainly the camera, touchscreen and fingerprint scanner, among other stuff, as you can read from the above lists.

The camera app in particular has been totally redesigned, the old MediaTek stock interface has been replaced with a more modern and feature-filled camera app. It will now feature a manual mode as well, for those more adventurous.

The new manual photo mode is called “Pro-photo” and through it you’ll be able to change: white balance, ISO, exposure, contrast, brightness and saturation.

A sure step in the right direction for UMi, which had previously announced to also update the UMi Super, UMi Max and UMi Plus to Android 7.0 Nougat later this year.

Oops. It was supposed to say that all the Umi propaganda has made me hate the brand. I had a Umi XII and it was pretty good, but never ever a Umi now.

If the update fixes the common bad touchscreen response issues, it might end up being an okay phone.

    Umi is a very dishonest and unreliable brand. I wouldn’t buy any of their phones.
    Sure, the update might fix it, but having issues that bad out of the box is inexcusable.

      I have the umi super and never had any problems with it for 179 usd best phone I’ve onwed

        I had 2 umi super , the first one with a perfect touchscreen and a bad GPS fix, the 2nd with a good fix but horrible touchscreen. .lottery with theses Chineses phones..

Yeah… I am not buying this. UMI is known for their bad updates and stuff.. ;p
