Elephone are working on a new phone with curved display and ceramic back cover

Surprise surprise, Elephone are already working on yet another model even before the latest batch is released. Everything about the new model is shrouded in mystery, but the hushed rumors are hinting at a curved display and the ceramic back cover of this new phone.

Ceramic material has an advantage with being corrosion resistant and also pretty much negates the antenna problem present with the metallic covers. Also it’s smooth and more pleasant to touch and hold than the glass one and it offers a smooth curve too. And the curved display results in the reflected images on the edge of the curved display disappearing smoothly without anamorphosis.

We have for you some pictures hinting at the alleged looks and design of the new Elephone model, but for now that’s about it, not a word about the hardware yet. So is it worth being hyped about this new phone ? You can find more information for example here or here.

  You get a phone that breaks in pieces with any possible fall… It’s basically a moneybox for batteries: every time you want to change you battery, all you need to do is smash your back cover

those guys can’t deliver the phones they annonced like a year ago, leave alone support the one they actualy produce but they keep annoncing new phones after new phone

Another model that is designed by Elephone’s developers…then I wonder…but they never rest ???
The fact of using the ceramic back, intrigues me. All the others who have done it have had positive results, but it isn’t a standard adopted. Perhaps it makes it more expensive? It can only make me pleasure … the positive development should be supported and if positive, must be paid!

I hope and believe that this new model is not something that will be released in short term, but it will be a model for 2017. This year there are still too many models being tested that are one step away from being released.

Every staff member seems to get to design a phone at Elephone, even the Janitor.
Don’t they ever learn. The P9000 style marketing and support is the way to go. Else hire a heap more ARM/Android developers.

Wow really nice design like Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, though in rendered image of this one looks quite thinner than that. Hopefully it would be a prototype on developing stage cause they are yet to launch other teased devices.

Front design is so attractive but here is some confusion on the back. Is it not same as the uocoming Elephone S7?? looks similar to that. Will it release next year?

For this news about the back cover in ceramic, I joint to the common thought. It seems a good idea, but if we don’t figure out what they want to aspire, everything remains unsubstantiated. The time will help us to understand more.

I can’t go away one day, that elephone pulls out a new smartphone!
Apart from the idea of ceramics, that it seems a good idea even if expensive, but I hope at least release before the models announced by time, like P9000 Edge, P20, R9 and S7!
