The Chinese well and truly seem to have focused their energies on producing portable work machines. Teclast, Chuwi are two companies leading the race alongside newcomer Jumper.
The latest Jumper model is the Jumper EZpad 5SE. As you can clearly tell, the name isn’t the most inspiring (and in fact, inapt as some would agree)… so is the design. But the Chinese have another way of making it compelling — pricing.
Gizchina News of the week
The Jumpter EZpad 5SE is a Microsoft Surface clone, and it’s on sale for under $200. It comes with most of the spec we’ve seen on other devices in this category — including an Intel Z8300 SoC, 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM, a 10.6-inch 1920 x 1080p display, and 2 mega-pixel cameras on the front and rear. A 6600mAh battery powers the tablet.
There doesn’t seem to be any kind of dual-booting on offer here, neither with Remix OS or Android. There’s good old Windows 10 out of the box, however.
A stylus and detachable keyboard are sold as standalone accessories, while the tablet itself is on sale for $183.
