There were a couple of rumours suggesting that a shortage of AMOLED displays was forcing OnePlus to start producing Oneplus 3 devices using LCD displays, but that was later disproved from a tweet from co-founder Carl Pei saying that they will be sticking to AMOLED screens “for the foreseeable future”.
OnePlus will be staying with Optic AMOLED displays for the foreseeable future.

That being said, a picture recently showed up on chinese site “MyDrivers” showing a new OnePlus model dubbed the “A3010”. Seeing as how the OnePlus 3 has the model name “A3000”, it isn’t unreasonable to assume that this is the upcoming OnePlus 3s.
Gizchina News of the week
It’s definitely not the OnePlus 4, as it is only logical that the model would follow the naming convention at “A4000″… and it’s too soon for a launch like that anyway.
This phone should be using a non AMOLED display since there have been limitations set by Samsung (who produces them). Other specs include the Snapdragon 821, Android 7.0, and 6GB of RAM. However, these are all just rumours. We will update you as more information is released.
Oneplus 3s Rumoured Specifications:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Processor
- 5.5″ IPS LCD Display
- 6GB RAM
- Android 7.0 Nougat
Nice, a great alternative to Pixel phone, maybe even better if they will not underclock the SD821.
The OP3 as it is right now is a great alternative to the Pixel Phone.
And more affordable.
Absolutely
It is not, Pixel Phone is all about VR. OnePlus 3 is not Daydream ready because it has a bad low resolution screen and slow sensors.
I hope they go with LCD 5.7 inch and microsd slot..
non Amoled… boooo
Forseeable means what?
near future
until stock runs out and they make this LCD phone.
haha
You should ask about this from Carl, before you start share false information.
OnePlus makes attractive phones at a good price but I am waiting for them to come out with something with much better battery life before I buy, preferably 3500 to 4000 mAh.
You’ve just nailed it for me buddy.
