U.S Version of the LeEco Le3 to have 14nm CPU and optical zoom

LeEco recently revealed that it would launch phones in the U.S and the States side version of their phone could be powered be a 14nm chipset!

Rumours started yesterday when images of a LeEco phone were posted online showing a A72 powered 2.5Ghz chipset with 14nm architecture. This new build should mean a more powerful yet more efficient chipset than we have seen in previous LeEco devices.

The brand behind the processor isn’t Qualcomm though (as we might have expected to see from an international phone) but rather Taiwan based semi conductor maker Mediatek. The CPU is clearly branded as a Helio model but it’s unsure which 10 core Helio chip it might be.

Other images of the phone reveal a full metal body, rear fingerprint scanner and dual camera design along with dual LED flash. The new camera set up on the phone is believed to have up to 4 x optical zoom using internal mirrors and lenses which move to enable the feature.

LeEco are also likely to launch there new phone in India and also in China. No word on if the brand plans to officially release the phone in the rest of the world at this time.

They will sell only Qualcomm 650/652/820/821 powered handsets in the USA. It’s necessary to support the various US LTE bands
The good news could be a phone supporting Google services and store, out of the box. And none of the Lemall/Lesports stuff (unusable bloat outside China)
In China they might use the new Mediatek X27 , slated between the X25 and X30. X30 not ready yet and will be a 2017 affair.

  Not for long. From what i see, they are starting their streaming service in USA. Actually they have to. Because if they sell the phones at cost price, they gotta have the money back somehow. I think the Leeco FB page released a photo related to competing with Netflix.

The helio x25 runs at 2.5ghz: since the clock is the only thing that differentiate it from x20, if the chip could have run at an higher clock there’s no reason for mediatek to cup it at a lower clock, even if it’s just 0.1ghz of difference. Also, there is no chip from mediatek actually using 14nm architecture, and the chip rumored to run at 2.6ghz (helio x27) should be based on 20nm. Moreover, what’s the point of having 2 a53 cluster running at the same speed?! I’m not even sure a72 cores could run higher than 2.5ghz!
And, finally, qualcomm has a full coverage of us bands, don’t think mediatek does.
Tl;dr:
BS photoshopped thing for too many reasons.
Also, probably the dual camera phone will be le max 3, not a us version of le 3 pro

A mediatek official has already come out and said that cpu-z has gotten the information wrong and it’s 20nm and not 14! How is this still news as the chip in question doesn’t even exist.

  Except it isn’t necessary. All current Mediatek chips support all US LTE networks.
