Xiaomi has released an update to one of their best selling products to date!

While you may know Xiaomi for their smartphones, earphones, or even clothing, it could have been their original 10,000mAh battery that really got you on to the brand.

Xiaomi really did hit headlines around the world for their first power bank, a 10,000mAh battery in an alloy body that cost only 79 Yuan. The product was so popular that it sparked off a cottage industry of fakes and rival brands released their own competing models.

Gizchina News of the week

Today then was pretty historic as the original Xiaomi battery pack has been superseded with an all new 10,000mAh battery. The new battery pack features a set of high-density lithium polymer batteries which supports a two-way fast charge system suitable smaller capacity devices like earphones and sports tracking bracelets.

The newer power bank comes in a similar aluminium casing that is only 14.1mm thick and gets a more rounded curve, four LED power indicator and 2 x USB ports.

Like the previous version the new battery pack also costs just 79 Yuan and goes on sale tomorrow!

The original Xiaomi 10,000mAh battery pack is still on sale through resellers from just $16.00.

I don’t skimp on any thing power/charging related with my phones. Why is it people love cheap powerbanks only for it to end up reducing the life or efficiency of their phones battery ultimately making their phone ever more dependent on the said powerbank.

The same is for chargers; you see people lose their oem charger and end up buying some cheap junk charger for a dollar or two and then it starts a fire, but hey, you saved ten bucks!
