This is quite exciting. UMi are from the likes of the Chinese manufacturers that get mocked quite often, but they’re up to something that many won’t mind: building an Android 7.0 Nougat build for the new UMi Plus.

UMi Plus Android 7.0 Update

The update is officially due in December, but a selected few will be able to test and help UMi build a bug-free ROM. Naturally, you’ll have to have an UMi Plus to be able to participate. To do so, you can head over to the official site and fill the form.

In exchange of your interest and willingness to iron out issues, UMi have promised to send out free Bluetooth Speakers — this one right here. Oh, and it’s worth noting that the best one of total 10 beta testers will be selected.

While its true a lot of up and coming brands try a bit too hard a bit too often, it is heartening to see a bit of an old timer, so as to say, doing something like this.
