What with no Meizu rumours last week we were starting to worry about the company, but they are back with a bang this week.
Meizu rumours tend to hit the Chinese news outlets daily but last week was unusually quiet for the Zhuhai phone maker (perhaps due to 11:11) however their marketing team have got back to work this morning with an interesting piece.
Today’s latest is all about another “mystery” flagship from Meizu and the processor that is may have when released.
Gizchina News of the week
We all know that Meizu won’t be using Samsung chipsets, and the ongoing legal battle with Qualcomm (not to mention all those back royalty payments they owe) will prevent them from using a Snapdragon chip. It’s once again looking likely that the new Meizu will run a Mediatek chipset, but not one we have already seen!
The news is that the phone could be the first device to launch with a Mediatek Helio X30 chipset! The processor will be the most powerful chip from the Taiwanese brand to date and is their first SoC made using 10nm technology.
Specs for the Helio X30 include a 10 core design made up of A73 and A53 cores, the ‘Turbo’ cores will run at up to 2.8Ghz and the chipset is the first from Mediate to support up to 8GB RAM!
Typo in the headline, Andi.
Well it will probably also be a first one to use the Helio X30 so it will also be a hello introduction of it. ?
Mezu ??
Meizu, yes.
Typo still there, seems admin only care about the ads. Smh
Hello – Helio
Mezu – Meizu
Typo in my comment as well: it should be “typos” lol.

I’m disappointed, it’s been a couple of days without a 15yo “publishing” on weibo a meizu “leak” with an exynos soc and specs pulled out of his ass with no evidence whatsoever to back up what he’s saying…
However, there’s no doubt meizu will use helio x30 next year, although its crisis is starting to make mediatek ditching it a bit… Like they’re evaluating vernee as the new company to showcase their chips, so maybe in a couple of yeara meizu will be just a standard chinese company with no preferential channel for the mt socs… Let’s see how it plays out, I’m curious if they’ll save meizu or bury it

Another disappointment. X30 or X300, MediaWreck will not provide the top-dog-bar-none SoC to the market and as usual, that position will be fulfilled by an offering from either Samsung or QualComm, with the latter being more likely.
MediaTek sucks.

It could be a big step towards recovery for Meizu if they can get the first X30 deal!
MTK X30 will have a great CPU part with adequate GPU(PVR7XT).
My estimates are that it will reach 150K in Antutu for sure, beyond that, it’s just guessing.
