China’s Vivo have announced the Vivo V5, a 20 mega-pixel selfie camera smartphone, at an event in India. If that wasn’t a telltale sign that the phone was all about selfies, the software features — specifically the ‘moonlight selfie’ will clear your apprehensions.
The phone is quite a mid-ranger (despite a good amount of RAM available), besides the selfie features. That said, it is made with a unibody metal construction that should help sell it for the 17,980 INR ($266) asking price of the phone.

Let’s take a quick look at the specifications. The Vivo V5 is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor, along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The rear camera — second to the selfie shooter w.r.t resolution — is a 13 mega-pixel sensor. The phone also boasts the AK4376 sound decoder, and runs Android 6.0.
The 3000mAh battery phone will go on retail sale on the 27th of November, with pre-orders running 15th through 26th. Quite honestly, the V5 does look a lot like phones from Vivo’s sister company… don’t you think?
