Elephone has announced it will release a dual camera phone offering similar camera effects to the iPhone 7 and Huawei Mate 9.
We have a feeling that dual camera phones will be all over the place in 2017, in fact we’re already seeing devices with 2 rear cameras hitting the market in large numbers already!
It was Huawei that made dual cameras a thing for the Chinese market with the Huawei Honor 6 Plus, the followed that up with the Huawei P9 and Mate 9 while Xiaomi launched the Redmi Pro and Mi5S Plus dual camera models. It’s not just the larger brands that are offering these features either and we have already reported on an up and coming Bluboo device coming soon.
Gizchina News of the week
With all this dual camera love going on, it’s not surprising that Elephone wants to get in on the action. The company had already announced yesterday that it would release a 6GB RAM, Helio P25 phone at the end of the year, and now it appears that another mystery version is set to make waves too.
Elephone hasn’t gone into any of the specifics of the phone yet other than it will offer similar defocus features to the Mate 9 and iPhone 7 Plus. This could mean that we will see a phone with a main camera and a secondary sensor with a lower resolution (as seen on the Xiaomi Redmi Pro).
Elephone being Elephone aren’t likely to leave this mystery unsolved for long so don’t be surprised to see more details about this dual camera phone soon.
“Elephone releases a ‘tricamera’ phone” won’t even surprise me, cause their optics are still below par. Elephone may start getting “the camera part” right on their phones in 2018, or maybe 2020.
somewhere l saw they will use samsung’s lenses on this model, l know it will be better than SONY’s lenses
Doesn’t matter what the lenses are, if they can’t get the software working properly with them..
