The UMi Plus E is now officially on sale and UMi customers are going to receive their pre-ordered device pretty soon. In the meanwhile UMi has released a new video unboxing of their latest handset, so let’s have a taste of what they’ll be getting in their box.
In this video we finally see the beautiful Onyx Black version of the UMi Plus E, which UMi states has been crafted from bead-blasted aluminum, just like the Black Space iPhone 7.
UMi’s Plus E comes with a deep matte finish which has been created with 125 different processes, the end result is a “pure” black look that hides were the metal body terminates and the front glass begins, or so it appears on video.

In the past we’ve seen a video of the Helio P20 equipped UMi Plus E running the AnTuTu benchmark and scoring more than 60,000 points, an improvement of 20% over the MediaTek Helio P10. There’s also a 25% decrease of energy usage due to the 16nm manufactured CPU.
As far as GPU, there’s an increase of more than 25% compared to the older SoC, scoring over 11,000 points on the 3D test. In addition to that the 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM sure help keeping the phone working smoothly with more than 50 apps running at the same time without hiccups.
UMi Plus E Specifications
The UMi Plus E is world’s first Helio P20 powered smartphone, accompanied by the previously mentioned 6GB of RAM, 64G of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB).
Featuing a 5.5-inch Full HD Sharp display, a 4000mAh battery with PE+ (Pump Express+) support, 13MP camera with PDAF autofocus. and a fingerprint scanner (Touch ID 2.1) on the front. The phone supports Cat. 6 4G LTE networks.
