Remember that time last year when Chinese companies were attempting to make YotaPhone competitors? That odd time when companies wanted to have secondary E-ink displays on the back of their devices? Well, Hisense may be looking to restart that trend with their new device, the A2.
The Hisense A2 recently passed through TENAA, and it’s not too shabby. The main display is a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED unit, while the 5.2-inch e-ink display is 960×540. The device gets a 1.4GHz octa core processor (MSM8937), as well as 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The battery is a standard 3000mAh unit, which should be sufficient enough for standard use. The A2’s rear camera is a 16MP shooter, while the front camera is a 5MP unit. All of this will run on Android 7.0.
The fact that the A2 has passed through TENAA can only mean it’ll be launching soon, though we’re not sure when or for how much. We don’t expect to come cheap, though we’d like to see it not overpriced like the other e-ink Android devices.
