Gionee teases their upcoming M2017 with celebrities

Remember those TENAA leaks of Gionee’s new device from a couple of weeks ago? Well, here it is again, now in its own teaser image. Not only that, but apparently it’s the celebrity’s choice of device. Not too shocking considering it’s Vertu-like design.

The teaser image shows off Chinese actress-director couple Xu Fan and Feng Xiaogang. And in the latter’s hand is non other than the M2017 itself. Granted, it’s not exactly the star of the image, but it’s there.

While the device’s design may split opinions (I think it’s nice), it’s undeniably powerful. The device comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display, along with the Snapdragon 652 chipset. Backing that is a huge 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The cameras are a 12MP + 13MP dual rear camera setup and an 8MP front shooter.

The M2017 measures in at 155.2×77.6×10.65mm and weighs a fairly heavy 230g. That thickness and weight comes with a mammoth 7000mAh battery, so it balances out. As for software, the phone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It’s fairly clear that this device won’t come cheap, when and whenever it goes on sale.
