Xiaomi have announced the second-gen of their extremely popular (and my favourite) 20,000mAh power bank.
This accessory has been announced at an aggressive price of just 149 yuan in China, that turns out to be around $21. This new power bank is all set to go on sale in China starting the 19th of this month, i.e., coming Monday.
That said, GizChina readers should expect to be able to purchase this gadget from overseas shippers… the usual suspects. Of course, at a bit of a markup ($30?)!
Gizchina News of the week
As you can notice from the pictures, the power bank is extremely similar in design and form to the existing version. That said, there’s a bit of a change in the insides of this power bank — it no longer comes with 18650 cells. This time around, the power bank is also certified to work with Qualcomm QC 3.0 devices.
What is good is that it carries the exact same price tag as the previous one!
no USB Type-C? I really want that to be the normal case by now… I’m pretty sure I don’t want to buy a new device now without it…
I wish they’d make a version of their 5000mah powerbank with a smaller form factor too… Bigger is better I guess, but a powerbank with a decent capacity and a more portable size would be good too
I have this 20000mAh power bank. It is very good. The quality is plastic but with a beautiful texture and chargers my MiNote 2 and Mi Max very well.
Yes it recharges SO SLOW, but is worth it XD
Charging speeds. What else culd it changed? At least I am certain that Mi Max Prime supports QC 3.0 for S652 variant I am not certain.
aah so you mean it will charge faster not change faster O_O
Anyway I don’t mind the speed my power bank charges. It is just fine. Maybe I don’t use/charge at the same time, so it won’t matter I guess XD
Speaking of batteries… Man, does Mi Max stay for days… It is unbelievable. I mean yes the mobile recharges a bit slower than my Mi Note but stays way way way longer than Mi Note… I use Mi Note just to communicate.. Whatsapp QQ WeChat etc…
And I use Mi Max to play games watch videos etc… Beside that, I put a sim card to activate internet NO not just that, but also to use it as a hotspot service. And yet this monster stays for at least a day.. I tried my best to drain it, but it is hopeless haha
I remember how impressed I was with Mate 7 but this one is just crazy.. I tried to drain it by opening a game and leaving it open. I had like 70% and opened a game “yes on silent mode” but the wifi was on and all.. I slept for like 5-7 hours and when I woke up the mobile was at 30% haha this is crazy.
^ I know I just could not hide how amazing the battery so I wrote this whole speech XD
I know I have one & it’s 10+h of SOT (with 3 h of gaming) & I deplete it for a day when I have time. Still things culd be much better regarding its battery life, had a discussion about that on XDA cuple of days back & how CPU usage (scaling & execution) is actually far from optimised.
haha I hear you. I hate auto correct :p
Wait a second, are you talking about mi Max or Mi Note? Because Mi Max is AMAZING as I stated, but Mi Note is not so good tbh.
6.44 and 5.7 inch and almost the same battery, but it is far better on 6.44 Max.
I am referring to what I told you Mi Max.

Reed & the next page.
ahaa so it has something to do with CPU optimization to make the battery even better.
Man that would be awesome :3
It’s about CPU governor, CPU ctl frequently scanning & core/cluster utilisation and it concerns both performance and battery life especially regarding the Prime models with S652 as SoC is capable of matching the performance of the S820 in multicore peek performance (if not even more).
On the other hand you won’t see it soon as the Source Xiaomi released is actually old, rather bad & problematic so no high hopes until their release fresher one.
I see I see “cluelessly nodding” I agree.
Yeah don’t waste your time trying to explain. :3
But thanks and sorry haha

Well the point is that with this new one it will charge faster.
Change what? :s
