Earlier today, Flipkart teased the OnePlus 3 for an upcoming sale on the Indian e-commerce site. The price for the phone was teased 1_,999 INR. Now, assuming that to be 19,999 INR, it’s still an 8,000 INR drop from the official 27,999 INR asking price of the phone.
Now the interesting bit: it’s not the fact that the OnePlus 3’s price is getting slashed on Flipkart, but that it’s being listed on the site is what’s wrong. As many might know already, Amazon India are OnePlus’ exclusive retail partner for the OnePlus 3.
This even prompted a tweet from OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. He said: “@_sachinbansal brother, what’s this? We’re exclusive with @amazonIN”

Following that, OnePlus released a quick statement to avoid any confusion in the Indian buyers. Following is the statement:
OnePlus is focused on creating premium flagship smartphones. We have an exclusive partnership with Amazon in India. We advice customers to purchase OnePlus products only through official channels as we cannot guarantee the authenticity of the products sold elsewhere.
It’s yet to be known what’s going to happen next. The Indian market is known to be extremely price-sensitive, so it’ll be interesting to see if Flipkart continue to carry the OnePlus 3 for 19,999 INR (or lesser) despite not receiving official after-sales from the manufacturer.
